Thinking about transitioning to parenthood might bring about mixed emotions from the utmost joy of becoming a mom or dad to the nervousness of wondering if you have prepared enough for "any" situation you could encounter. 

You want to build a strong family base for your children. Like most couples who are expecting a baby, you want to be good parents and provide the best for your children. However, when such a strong focus is placed on your children, it can be easy to forget about the importance of the relationship between you and your partner.

Studies have shown within three years after the birth of a baby, approximately 67% of couples will experience a significant drop in relationship quality and have a dramatic increase in conflict and hostility.

According to research, when parents have a strong, satisfying relationship, their children have the foundation for positive emotional and social development which results in children doing better in school, adapting better socially, and are physically and emotionally healthier.

 

Together, we'll go through activities and tools to strengthen your relationship based on the workshop, "Bringing Baby Home" developed by the Gottman Institute. Online counseling is suitable for couples planning for pregnancy, couples who are pregnant, and new parents.
